First Hydrogen Car in India
First Hydrogen Car in India by Indian Manufacturer TATA and MIRAI by Toyota

India is making strides towards a cleaner and greener future with the introduction of its first hydrogen car and FCEV. This FCEV promises a range of over 600 kilometers on a single refill and minimal emissions, making it a significant advancement in the country's automotive industry.
The most trusted Automotive groupe of India i.e. Tata Motors has developed Nexon FCEV, unveiled in 2023, is a testament to India's commitment to developing sustainable transportation solutions. This hydrogen-powered car runs on clean energy, producing only water vapor as a byproduct. This significantly reduces harmful tailpipe emissions and contributes to a cleaner environment.
The Nexon FCEV is a major breakthrough for India's automotive sector. It paves the way for a future where hydrogen-powered vehicles become a mainstream alternative to conventional gasoline and diesel cars. With continued research and development, hydrogen cars have the potential to revolutionize transportation in India and around the world.
India’s first Hydrogen Car by Toyota
The Toyota Mirai became India's first hydrogen-powered car to be unveiled in 2023. This marked a significant milestone in the country's shift towards cleaner transportation options. The Mirai is a mid-size car equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) powertrain.
FCVs generate electricity through an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, producing only water vapor as a byproduct. This makes them a promising solution for reducing tailpipe emissions and combating climate change.
While the Mirai is currently not commercially available in India, However it paves the way for future hydrogen car development and infrastructure creation. The Indian government has also shown support for hydrogen fuel cell technology, aiming to set up hydrogen fueling stations across the country.
